Bardia National Park is located in western part of Nepal that was established in 1988 as Royal Badia National Park. Its situated in plain lands, covering an area of 968 sq.km and it is the largest and most undisturbed wilderness area in Nepal's Terai, adjoining the eastern bank of the Karnali River in the Bardiya District .The wide range of vegetation types in forest and grassland provides excellent habitat for 642 faunal species. The Karnali-Babai river system, their small tributaries and myriads of oxbow lakes is habitat for 125 recorded species of fish and mugger crocodiles. A small population of gharial inhabits the rivers. Apart from the crocodiles, 23 reptile and amphibian species have been recorded. Current checklists include 407 bird species, among them the Bengal florican, white-rumped vulture, peafowl, and bar-headed geese, which are symbolic of the park. It is the largest and most undisturbed protected area in the Terai, home to many endangered species including tiger, wild elephant, rhinoceros, swamp deer, blackbuck, gharial crocodile, marsh mugger crocodile and Gangetic dolphin. The enchanting birds found here are Bengal florican, lesser florican, Silver-eared mesia and Sarus Crane. The national park is full of open grasslands and glades ‘making it an ideal place for game-viewing.

  • Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu, O/N at Hotel on BB Basis(Kathmandu).
    Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Global Holidays Adventure representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip.
  • Day 02: Morning Mountain Flight and Day Kathmandu Valley sightseeing, O/N at Hotel on BB Basis(Kathmandu).
    Early morning you will transfer to Airport for Mt. Flight. On one hours flight you can see magnificent view of Himalayas including Mt. Everest and others so many himalayas. During Day time you will visit most pilgrime’s, historical and Cultural places including Buddhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan Durbar Square and Swambhunath Stupa.
  • Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj & Drive to Bardia National Park, O/N at Hotel on BLD Basis. 
    We take an hour's flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj in Western Nepal, the nearest airport from the Bardia National Park. Nepalgunj itself is an interesting Terai town of Nepal with influences from both the Nepal hills as well as local Hindu & Muslim cultures. The Bardia National Park is 90 kilometers from Nepalgunj, a 2 hours' drive. Reaching Bardia, you will be transferred to your resort. There will be a briefing about the program at the National Park. In the evening, village tour to an ethnic Tharu village nearby, believed to be original inhabitants of the local jungle area. 
  • Day 04: Full Day Activities in Bardia National Park including Jungle Walk, O/N at Hotel on BLD Basis. 
    After breakfast we embark for a Jungle Drive deep into the woods. The Bardia jungle is home to a number of wild animals including Asian Elephant, Great One Horn Rhinoceros, Spotted Deer or Chital, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Samber, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Nilgai, Black Buck, Wild Boar, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Golden Jackal, and Striped Hyena, etc. Visit to crocodile breeding center and the Tharu Museum. There are also towers (Machan) at different places where you can wait for the unsuspecting wild-lives to pass by so that you may shoot them (of course with your camera!). Our experienced nature guide would help you in tracking the wild life. Overnight at the National Park. (B)
  • Day 05: Full Day Activities in Bardia National Park including Jungle Safari & Relax, O/N at Hotel on BLD Basis. 
    We have another full day for our wildlife experience. In the morning, we go for a jungle walk which would also serve the purpose of bird-watching. An interesting feature of today's activities is the elephant safari into the deep & dense jungle. Apart from the fun, another benefit of elephant ride into the jungle is that there is a better chance of seeing wild animals, since the wild animals are less scared when you're on the top of their mammoth friend. Moreover, riding the elephant also saves you from any potential attacks by the wild animals. The elephants usually head northwest and you may see deer, langur monkeys, rhinos and boar. In the evening, watch the cultural program and Western Nepal Tharu dance organized by the villagers. 
  • Day 06: Drive to Nepalgunj & Fly to Kathmandu, O/N at Hotel with BB Basis. 
    Today after taking breakfast we drive back to Nepalgunj to catch the flight to Kathmandu. Depending on the flight time, we can spend some time visiting nearby places. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to Hotel Shanker or a similar category hotel. Share your experience with travel companions, trade emails, and organize the photos. You can spend the evening leisurely, perhaps catch up on some last minute shopping or strolling around in the streets. In the evening, celebrations & dinner together with Global Holidayas Adventure Staff.
  • Day 07: Transfer to Airport and Fly back to your Country. 
    You are saying goodbye to the mountains as your holiday tour of Nepal comes to an end today! We hope you enjoyed the tour with us, and we are sure you will be back for a trip to Himalaya again. Approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight a representative from Global Holidays Adventure representative will transfer you to the airport. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be in, is this trip for me?
A. This trip is suitable for any kind of people from child to Old people. Not any pre- experience is necessary.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the Airport upon my arrival?
A. Yes, our Airport Representative will be there to greet you outside of Terminal Hall, he/she will be displaying an Global Holidays Adventure sign with your name on it. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

 

Q. What sort of accommodation can I expect in this tour?
A. Here are so many different catagories hotel. Its up your demand. In our package ,We provide two or three star hotel accommodation for entire trip. The hotels have all the facilities of 24 hours hot and cold-water, attached bathrooms, dining rooms, bar, internet facilities, etc.

Q. What sort of food can I expect in the tour?
A. All the restaurants that we dine at cater for Continental, Chinese, Mexican, American based cuisine with some local influences, always plenty to choose from.

Q. What sort of transportation you use?
A. Depending on the group size we use Private cars, minibus, van, land cruiser. These small light vehicles are more maneuverable and flexible enabling us to take you through the Narrow roads of Nepal.

Q. What is the best season for this trip?
A. Any time between Octobers to Sep.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like?
A. It is all depending on what time of year you are traveling; during winter (Mid December to February), it gets colder at night and warmer during the day. The temperature could be as high as 22 deg C during day and 4 deg C low early in the morning and at night.

From March to May it is warm and sometimes a bit hot and weather stay perfect. The average temperature during this time of year is 25 deg C.

During the months of September to early December it is always warmer providing the perfect time to travel. The average temperature during this time of year is 20 deg C.

You will be in air-conditioned vehicles during the tour and all hotels are fully air conditioned.

Q. Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?
A. Yes, of course but remember to bring your adapters!

Q. Is there any communication while we are on tour?
A. There are telephones and internet facilities available so you can always stay in contract with your family.

Q. Can I use credit cards and ATM in the places visit?
A. ATM are available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, major credit cards are accepted in all places but you need to pay 4% extra as bank levy so cash is always recommend.

Q. How much additional money do I need per day?
A. It all depends on your spending habits for Lunch, Dinner, Drink and Bar Expenses.

Q. Do I need to tip my guide and driver? How much would that be?
A. Tips are always expected, it is good to tip your tour staff at the end of tour.

Q. Is the water OK to drink? Do I need to bring purifying tablets/filter?
A. Bottled water is available in all the places.Bottled water is safe for drinking. You don't need to carry any purifying tablets.

Q. What essential documents do I need to bring with me on tour?
A. *Valid Passport – must be valid for up to 6 months after you return from your tour, keep a separate photocopy.

  • Cash and Traveller’s Cheques, keep numbers and proof of purchase separate

Q. Can I add extra days to my trip?
A. A holiday should never be about making it to the final point quickly. Along your tour we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, Hotel and Transportation.

Q. What immunizations will I need?
A. No vaccinations are compulsory in Himalaya, but we do recommend you are covered for *diphtheria & TB, hepatitis A, *hepatitis B, *malaria, typhoid, polio and tetanus.

We also recommend:

  • A dental check-up prior to travelling.
  • That you know your blood group in case of emergency.

That if you have any pre-existing medical conditions which might affect you on tour, you make these known to your tour leader and Ace the Himalaya at the time of your booking.
