Bhutan Durk Path is One of the most Scenic and popular treks. Which is relatively a short trek, it treks you to the altutude of 4210 M above the sea level, making it moderately strenuous. The trek pass the few remote lakes veriety of rhododendron and growth forest and get beautiful views of high mountains and valleys below. The daysb are very short normally described for five days but can be easily achieved in four days with a three nights camp. Average hiking time per day will be about 6-7 hours. The route begins in Paro and ends in Thimphu, at its highest point it crosses an altitude of 3800m. The best season would be in spring when you can see many varieties of flowers and views of the mountains. However fall too is a good time.

  • Day 1: Arrive at Paro transfer to Hotel. Overnight at the hotel
  • Day 2: Paro Excursion to Tiger's Nest, overnight stay at hotel in Paro,
  • Day 03: Trek Paro to Jele Dzong, 10 Km, Walk Time 3 - 4 hours. (3,350m). O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 04: Trek Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha Altitude 3,700m; Distance 12 Km; Time 4 - 5 hours. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 05: Trek Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso, 3800m, 16 Km; walk time 6/7 hours. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 06: Trek Jimilangtso to Simkota. (4-5hours). O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 07: Trek Simkota to Phajoding. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 08: Trek Phajoding to Thimphu. O/n at Hotel with BB
  • Day 09: Departure, Early morning, drive to the airport and farewell

  • Day 01: Arrive at Paro transfer to Hotel.
    On the flight to Paro one can see the tallest of Himalayan peaks like; Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, Jomolhari and Jichu Drake. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by representatives of Global Holidays Adventure and would be taken to Paro Hotel. In late afternoon you can visit the local market for some leisure sightseeing. Overnight at the hotel.
  • Day 2: Paro Excursion to Tiger's Nest.
    As our itinerary before starting your Bhutan Trekking experience you do warm-up hike to Taktsang Monastery, the Tiger’s Nest. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche came to this spot riding a flying tigress. This magical monastery clings to a vertical granite cliff 900m, above the valley floor. The hike to Taktsang Monastery takes about 2 hours. It was built in 1644 under the order of Zhabdrung Nawang Namgyal. The fortress was almost completely burned down in 1906 and was later restored to its previous glory. Afterwards you will visit Ta Dzong (fortress), which was originally built as a watchtower to the Paro Dzong. It was converted into a museum in 1968. There are about 3,000 articles on display, some dating back 2,000 years. overnight stay at hotel in Paro.
  • Day 03: Trek Paro to Jele Dzong, 10 Km, Walk Time 3 - 4 hours. (3,350m)
    Today is a short trek. The trek begins above the National Museum, we climb till we reach camp. If the weather is clear the Paro valley and the snow-capped mountains can be seen. The campsite is near the old Jele Dzong. If the caretaker is there you can visit the Dzong. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 04: Trek Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha Altitude 3,700m; Distance 12 Km; Time 4 - 5 hours.
    The trek starts with a short climb and then passes through a thick alpine forest of rhododendron and gradually climbs till we reach camp. You may see yak herders around your campsite. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 05: Trek Jangchulakha to Jimilangtso, 3800m, 16 Km; walk time 6/7 hours.
    The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day the views of the mountains and valleys are beautiful. Our camp is close to Lake Jimilangtso. These lakes are known for their giant sized trout, and if lucky, you may enjoy well-prepared trout for dinner.
  • Day 06: Trek Jimilangtso to Simkota. (4-5hours)
    The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees past the lake of Janetso. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 07: Trek Simkota to Phajoding
    From here we slowly descend down to Phajoding Monastery from where Thimphu town is visible at the valley floor. O/n at Camp with BLD
  • Day 08: Trek Phajoding to Thimphu
    It is the short trek to Thimphu valley through dense forest. Lunch at Thimphu. After lunch drive to Paro. O/n at Hotel with BB
  • Day 09. Departure: Early morning, drive to the airport and farewell.
