The most pilgrimage historical lake Dudh Pokhari is situated at the east of Marshyangdi river as well heart of the south western slopes of Buddha Himal, Himchuli and Mt. Manaslu in the between of Lamjung and Gorkha district. Dudh Pokhari means milky pond which is situated at 4,560 meters allivation from the sea level. Dudh Pokhari have carried really heavy history of Nepal since very long time when Nepal was in fourty five different kingdom. That time the mother of two king Gorkha's and Lamjung's drop her breast milk in this lake to stop fighting between two brother. So this pond is spirit and epicenter of unity Nepal. Now there is a river name Chepa which is starting from this holy pond. From this time its one of the major pilgrimage site where great fair is occured on Janai Purnima in August. The significance of Dudh Pokhari to the Gurung cannot be underestimated.It is believed that, It’s on the original migration route used for access into their present homelands.

    Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Global Holidays Adventure representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip.
  • Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley, O/N at Hotel with BB Basis.
    You will meet your trekking guide, discuss the trekking program and coordinate any last-minute arrangements. After/before briefing, with our professional tour guide we visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swaymbhunath and Patan Durbar Square. Rest of the time you can use for travelling around Thamel and buying needed equipment and other necessaries.
  • Day 03: Driving from Kathmandu to Paudi Bazzar Lamjung, 8/9 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    After Breakfast, 4/5 hours scenic drive through Prithvi highway to Paudi Bazzaar from Kathmandu. Then your camp will be at the bank ot Marshyandi River for overnight.
  • Day 04: Trek to Rainas Kot(2000m), 3/4 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    Today is your first day of your hiking. After breakfast you will have easy up way walking to Rainash Kot through through wonderful gurung village Baguwa and Ramche inside and cool forest. After visiting Bhairabi Nath Temple you will heads to the mohoriya kot and will get great opportunity to see the statue of Late Bhakti Thapa who is National Hero of Nepal. After Lunch you will climb up to Rainas Kot Top and you will visit the holy temple of Hindusm Shiva Jee Temple. We will wishing there for the success of your trip. Every year on the occation of Shivaratri on March would be great fair over there. Thousands of Hindusm pilgrimage will visit there on holy Shiva Jee Temple. Form Top you will have wonder scenery of himalayas including Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Buddha, Mt. Fishtain, Mt. Annapurna and lush valley of Chepa River and feeding field.
  • Day 05: Trek to Lakhajung, 5/6 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    You will have breakfast with wonderful view of himalayas. After enjoying the breakfast you will heads to easy way to Parajung. After Enjoy the Lunch in Parajung, you will heads to most historical place Lakhajung through Gauda. In Lakhajung you will visit most historical things of Nepal when it was more than fourty five kingdom. You will explore the ancient living style and house of Royal family and ancient fighting ways. You will stay overnight at Lakhajung which is culturally Gurung Village. You will also chance to explore about the most cast of Nepal Gurung and their culture, tradition and lifestyle.
  • Day 06: Trek to Ilimpokhari, 3/4 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    Today, get up together with tea. After refreshing you will have breakfast. Today is also one of the important day of your trip. Today we are going to Ilimpokhari which is very famous in lamjung district. The pond Ilimpokhari is very clean and there will not any dost or any leaf of trees. The pond Ilimpokhari is surrounding by the green forest but you never can see any leag of tree in this lake. We believed that, birds clean this lake everyday. When you there will any dost or leaves then birds clean this lake but nobody had seen any cleaning birds. We will stay overnight near the pond and get greatexperience in your life time.
  • Day 07: Trek to Bhadikharka, 6/7 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    Today, Get up together with Black tea. After refresh on the bank of Ilimpokhari pond then you will heads to Bhadikharka enjoy with breakfast. Today most of time we will walk through the Grazing Field for sheep and green cool forest. On the way we can see so many shalter of sheep. You will stay overnight at very quite tented camp at Bhadikharka.
    Day 08: Trek to Dudhpokhari(4,560m), 6/7 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    Today, Its your most important day that you are going to reaching your main destination of your trip Dudhpokhari ( Milky Pond). Today is little long day it can take 6/7 hours. The way is amazing and you will feel very good and enjoy with peace and nature love. We will stay overnight at bank of Dudhpokhari.
  • Day 09: Leisure day in Dudhpokhari, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Plan.
    Get up with the taste of dudhpokhari black tea. When you will open your zipper of tent, you will see the wonderful scenery of most himalayas Mt manasalu massif (8163m), Himal chuli (7896m), Dr. Harka Gurung Peak (7871m), Annapurna range including Manang valley,Boudha Himal, Himalchuli and Lamjung Himal. Dudh Pokhari is the long ridge that stretches south from Himal chuli (7896m) and near to Boudha peak (6672m). You will have breakfast infront of Mt. Manaslu and Lamjung Himal. After breakfast explore around Dudhpokhari and other small pokhari Hoss Pokhari and others. During day time have rest. Everning you will wonderful forest walk near Dudhpokhari.
  • Day 10: Trek to Kudi(3,800m), 4/5 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp.
    Today most of the way is easy down and Nepali flat. After 4/5 hours walking you will reach at Kudi Gurung Village which is located at 3,800 meters.
    Day 11: Trek to Rabrachu(3,150m), 5/6 Hrs, O/N at Tented Camp with BLD Basis.
    Today, Enjoy the breakfast then slowly you will heads to Rabrachu. All the way is descend mountain walk.
  • Day 12: Trek to Glalegaun(2,100m), 4/5 Hrs, O/N at Homestay with BLD Basis.
    Today, Its your another most important day of your trip. Today you going to visit most beautiful village of Nepal Ghalegaun and Ghanpokhara. You will stay overnight at local home with Local people with local food. You will enjoy with local people, food and culture. You will enjoy will cultural Dance by local people Ghale. Ghalegaun is also very famous as tea garden.
  • Day 13: Trek to Besishahar, O/N Guesthouse with BLD Plan.
    Today is you last day of your trip. After breakfast in Ghalegaun your will drive or trek to Besishahar( Headquarter of Lamjung). Then You will have last food with your supporting crue, porter and cook.
  • Day 14: Drive Back to Kathmandu, O/N at Hotel with BB Basis.
    After Breakfast Driver back to Kathmandu 170 Km. It will take 5/6 hours.
  • Day 15: Leisure Day in Kathmandu, O/N at Hotel with BB Basis.
    If you are interested in continuing onto Chitwan Jungle Safari, River Rafting Adventure, Kathmandu Shopping Tour or Scenic Everest Flight.
  • Day 16: Transfer to Airport for your Final Departure.

What type of shape do I need for this Trip?
Dudh Pokhari Trek is a suitable trek for all kind of people who are moderately fit, not any previous adventures experience is required. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming and walking are recommended before your Dudh Pokhari Trek. Persons suffering from a pre-existing medical condition must seek medical advice/consent before considering the trek. Whilst on the trek, it is common to experience some discomfort before being fully acclimatized.

Will somebody come to pick me up at the Airport upon my arrival?

Yes, Global Holidays Adventure representative will be there to greet you outside of Terminal Hall, he/she will be displaying an Global Holidays Adventure name with your name on it. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

Entry Visa fees - at present $25 for 15 day, US$ 40 for 30 day, and US$ 100 for three month visa on entry into Nepal. You take take Visa after landing Nepal in Tribhuwan International Airport.

What sort of accommodation can I expect in Kathmandu, and in trekking?

In Kathmand here are all kind of Hotel Simple hotel to 5* hotel. Its depends on your demand but normally in our trekking package We use standard rooms from three/four star hotels in Kathmandu with included breakfast.

During the trekking
, You will have teahouses/Lodges generally provide basic clean facilities with a mattress and a quilt or blanket. We can also offer you Global Holidays Sleeping bags if needed (which need to return after the trip) but it is good idea to always have your own sleeping equipment. We usually provide single and double rooms as well as the occasional dormitory. The dining room is downstairs around a fire. All food will be cooked to order in the little kitchen. You should not enter the kitchen unless asked to do so.

Toilet Facilities -
On trek, common toilet facilities are available at Tea Houses.

What kind of food can I expect in trekking?

In Dhaulagiri area, Most of Teahouse’s cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian fare. Pasta, tuna bakes, noodles, potatoes, eggs, dhal bhat, bread, soups, fresh vegetables (variety depends on the season) and even some desserts like apple pies, pancakes, and some interesting attempts at custard. You will find a lot of garlic on the menu because it assists with acclimatization – eat some every day. In many larger villages you may find some meat on the menu. You can always get hot chocolate, tea, and hot lemon drinks, as well as soft drinks, and treats like chocolate and crisps. Each day dinner and breakfast are used to take in the same lodge you spend the night. Lunch will be taken on the way to destination.

What sort of transportation I use?

Global holidays Adventure is all about providing you with local insights as well as adventure, with that in mind, where we think you will get more out of your holiday by using a different means of transport that is what we do. Using a variety of private transport is an integral part of our Himalaya tours and enhances the experience!
We use private tourist vehicles for sightseeing, city tours and pickups. Depending on the group size we use cars, minibus, van or land cruiser. These small light vehicles are more manoeuvrable and flexible enabling us to take you through the Narrow roads of Nepal. All the vehicles are usually air-conditioned unless we are travelling in cooler areas.

What is the best season for this trekking?

The best time for Dudh Pokhari Trek is October to mid December and mid February to mid June. It is not very good trekking during the monsoon season from June to August except treks in the Himalayan rain shadow like Upper Mustang and Kailash.

What is the weather & temperature like in trekking?

Weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are enerally warm. Winter (January and February) will be bit colder but the days can be quite beautiful and warm if the sun is out. There will be bit of snow during the month of January, February and December. It is also important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected! The temperature could be as high as 20 deg C to -15 deg C low.

Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?
These facilities will be available in most of the places in your hotel reception by paying some service charges. Remember to bring your adapters!

Is there any communication while we are on trekking?

There are telephones in some villages along the trekking routes from which you can make international calls. Some place there is also internet access which you can use by paying some charges.

Can I use credit cards in the places visit in trekking?

In Kathmandu you can use your credit/Master Card. During the Trekking you need cash you cannot use your credit card.


How much additional money do I need per day?

In Kathmandu, you can allocate US$ 08 - 10 for a lunch / dinner. It’s all depends on your spending habits. US$10 to 20 US$ a day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates and few drinks in trekking.

Do I need to tip my guide and porters? How much would that be?

This is a difficult thing to tell. Its up to you from your heart by looking their work and support. Tipping is not required, but a small way to show your guides and local porters thanks for their help. The level of the tip should reflect the level of personal involvement with your guide.


Is the water OK to drink? Do I need to bring purifying tablets/filter?
In most places bottled water is readily available. If you wish to drink normal water, you need to use purifying aid, which you will need to bring with you.

What essential documents do I need to bring with me on tour?

Can I add extra days to my trekking trip?
A trekking holiday should never be about making it to the final point quickly. Along your trek we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, porters, accommodation and food.

Do you use yaks/porters on the trek or do we carry all of our own gear?
Whilst on the trek, our porter will take care of your luggage. All you need to carry is your small day bag for your personal belongings like camera, water bottle, sun cream etc only.

What opportunities will I have for shower along the trek?

Yes, we arrange guesthouse with hot shower but some Place there is not hot shower, we will provide hot water in bucket for shower.
