Traveling with family is now becoming more popular in Nepal Our Family Treks designed especially for families with children and it is the perfect way to introduce marvels of the himalayan kingdom with fun, excitement and discovery for the whole family. This low altitude trek in the Annapurna foothills is specially devised for families. We include time in the traditional villages. At each campsite you can join our crew and the villagers in dancing, singing and games of volleyball and cricket. There is also time to visit the local schools and markets where cultural horizons are so different from our own. During the trek you get to witness magnificent oak and rhododendron forests as you ascend to alpine meadows that afford spectacular views of the Annapurna Range. After completing your trek you will travel to the Chitwan National Park and ride atop elephants in search of rhino and the Bengal tiger.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel(1,300m)
    Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Global Holidays Adventure representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip.
  • Day 02: Kathmandu Sight Seeing, O/N at Hotel with BB Plan.
    After breakfast you will have 2/3 hours sight seeing around Kathmandu Valley( Buddhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan Durbar Square and Swambhnath Stupa) with professional tour guide then after evening you will have meeting with Global Holidays Adventure’s Trekking guide who will support you for trekking preparation.
  • Day 03: Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu, O/N at Hotel with BB Plan.
    Pokhara is located about 200 km west from Kathmandu and the tourist coach takes about 7 hours to get there. Tourist bus leaves at 7:00 am from Kantipath (Kathmanu) to Pokhara. The drive mostly fallows along Trishuli River side enjoying the view of landscapes.
  • Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1491m)Ulleri (1980m), O/N at Guesthoues with BLD Plan.
    After breakfast in Pokhara at 7:30 drive to Nayapul where walking starts from. The drive takes 1:5 hours to Nayapul(42km) by car.Then trails leads up through the beautiful rice, maze and millet farms of locals. Fallowing the main trail of Birethanti passed small waterfall. The trail reaches Sudami where you have Lunch. After lunch climb steadily side of valley you reach at Hile and after half an hour you reach at Tikhedhunga for over night stay or you will walk futher until Ulleri for that you need to climbs 3000 stones steps from Tikadhunga .
  • Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2855m, 4/5 Hrs, O/N at Guesthoues with BLD Plan.
    In the morning breakfast will be served at hotel at 7:00am to be prepared for Ulleri (2070m) climb. The trail goes steep up for 1.5 hours through stone steps where the trail leads through cultivated fields Rest of trails goes through inside blooming rhododendron and Oak forest. Final climb to Nangethanti which will be your lunch spot in Nangethanti. Thanti is a Nepali words meaning "rest house" "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. After luch trek rests for about an hour. Then climb to Ghorepani at 2850m.
  • Day 06: Ghorepani - Poon hill - Tadapani (2540 m.), 6/7 Hrs, O/N at Guesthoues with BLD Plan.
    The most importand day of your trek early morning wake up and start your journey climb to Poon Hill (3210m) around 1 hr. to provides best majestic scenery and sunrise over the high mountains. Lot of white mountain can be seen from poon like Dhaulagiri [8167m], Annapurna South [7119m] Fishtail [6993m], Nilglgiri south, Singa chuli , Annapurna I [8091m] and many more peaks. You then come down to Ghorepani to have breakfast and trek to Tadapani for 6 hours. Trek leads mainly up and down hill through the forest.
  • Day 07: Trek to Ghandrunk (1940 m.), 4/5 Hrs, O/N at Guesthoues with BLD Plan.
    Right after breakfast at hotel your journey leads to Ghandruk which takes about 4 hours. The most cultural village the home of Gurung people. The trail mainly through forest and goes gentle down. Evening explore the Gurung museum to know about their traditional cloths and useful equipment.
  • Day 08: Trek to Nayapul and Drive to Pokhara, O/N at Hotel with BB Plan.
    The last of your walking day goes down through field and villages to Syaulibazar after 3 hours. This is easy day and down hill most of the part bumping road drive but no vehicles are available untill we arrive Nayapul.Trail is pretty flat from there to Nayapul to catch car drive to Pokhara. This day walking will be 6 hours altogether.
  • Day 09:Sight Seeing in Pokhara. O/N at Hotel With BB Plan.
    Early morning you will drive to Sarangkot to view the magnificent view of the Annapurna range, Machhepuchhera, Himchuli, Manaslu and others. After spending couple of hours in Sarangkot you will back to Hotel for Breakfast. After sometime rest you will have sight seeing around Pokhara.
  • Day 10: Drive to Chitwon from Pokhara,O/N at Resort on BLD Basis(Chitwon).
    After Breakfast Drive to Chitwon from Pokhara for 150 Kms for 5/6 hours. You will welcomed to resort with welcome drinks and you will enjoy your Dinner with Cultural dance.
  • Day 11: Jungle Safari in Chitwon National Park, O/N at Resort on BLD Basis(Chitwon).
    Early in the morning after having breakfast with the canoeing in the Rapati River our adventurous journey kick-starts, while canoeing we can see two species of Crocodile- Marsh Muggers and Gharial basking in the sun and we too will visit to elephant breeding center. After lunch we will go for Jungle Safari in the back of elephant where will see Rhino, antelope and other wildlife activities.
  • Day 12: Drive or Fly Back to Kathmandu,O/N at Hotel on BB Basis (Kathmandu).
    After breakfast you will drive to Kathmandu which is 156 Kms and it can take 5/6 hours. Evening relax your time with shopping soveniours.
  • Day 13: Final Derparture, Fly back to your country.

Q. What type of shape do I need to be in, is this trip for me?
A. This trip is suitable for any kind of people from child to Old people. Not any pre- experience is necessary.

Q. Will somebody come to pick me up at the Airport upon my arrival?
A. Yes, our Airport Representative will be there to greet you outside of Terminal Hall, he/she will be displaying an Global Holidays Adventure sign with your name on it. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.

 

Q. What sort of accommodation can I expect in this tour?
A. Here are so many different catagories hotel. Its up your demand. In our package ,We provide two or three star hotel accommodation for entire trip. The hotels have all the facilities of 24 hours hot and cold-water, attached bathrooms, dining rooms, bar, internet facilities, etc.

Q. What sort of food can I expect in the tour?
A. All the restaurants that we dine at cater for Continental, Chinese, Mexican, American based cuisine with some local influences, always plenty to choose from.

Q. What sort of transportation you use?
A. Depending on the group size we use Private cars, minibus, van, land cruiser. These small light vehicles are more maneuverable and flexible enabling us to take you through the Narrow roads of Nepal.

Q. What is the best season for this trip?
A. Any time between Octobers to Sep.

Q. What is the weather & temperature like?
A. It is all depending on what time of year you are traveling; during winter (Mid December to February), it gets colder at night and warmer during the day. The temperature could be as high as 22 deg C during day and 4 deg C low early in the morning and at night.

From March to May it is warm and sometimes a bit hot and weather stay perfect. The average temperature during this time of year is 25 deg C.

During the months of September to early December it is always warmer providing the perfect time to travel. The average temperature during this time of year is 20 deg C.

You will be in air-conditioned vehicles during the tour and all hotels are fully air conditioned.

Q. Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?
A. Yes, of course but remember to bring your adapters!

Q. Is there any communication while we are on tour?
A. There are telephones and internet facilities available so you can always stay in contract with your family.

Q. Can I use credit cards and ATM in the places visit?
A. ATM are available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, major credit cards are accepted in all places but you need to pay 4% extra as bank levy so cash is always recommend.

Q. How much additional money do I need per day?
A. It all depends on your spending habits for Lunch, Dinner, Drink and Bar Expenses.

Q. Do I need to tip my guide and driver? How much would that be?
A. Tips are always expected, it is good to tip your tour staff at the end of tour.

Q. Is the water OK to drink? Do I need to bring purifying tablets/filter?
A. Bottled water is available in all the places.Bottled water is safe for drinking. You don't need to carry any purifying tablets.

Q. What essential documents do I need to bring with me on tour?
A. *Valid Passport – must be valid for up to 6 months after you return from your tour, keep a separate photocopy.

  • Travel insurance, keep a separate photocopy

  • Cash and Traveller’s Cheques, keep numbers and proof of purchase separate

  • Flight tickets

  • Emergency contact numbers for T/C’s, banks, insurance, family contacts.


Q. Can I add extra days to my trip?
A. A holiday should never be about making it to the final point quickly. Along your tour we can add days at your request with additional costs to cover guides, Hotel and Transportation.

Q. What immunizations will I need?
A. No vaccinations are compulsory in Himalaya, but we do recommend you are covered for *diphtheria & TB, hepatitis A, *hepatitis B, *malaria, typhoid, polio and tetanus.

We also recommend:

  • A dental check-up prior to travelling.
  • That you know your blood group in case of emergency.

That if you have any pre-existing medical conditions which might affect you on tour, you make these known to your tour leader and Global Holidays Adventure at the time of your booking.
