Global Holidays Adventure provides Buddhist wedding arrangements for anyone interested to start their life in a traditional way.
The Buddhist Wedding Ceremony takes place in one of the monasteries inside Kathmandu. Normally we offer monasteries near Swayambhunath or Kapan Gompa or Mustang Gumba. The Bride and Groom are dressed in traditional Tibetan attire (traditional buddhists attire) and decorated with typical jewels for their special day. The Lamas (Buddhist priest) enchant mantras lighting wax candles. The sounds of traditional instruments provide spiritual flavor to the ambiance. All the family members attend the beautiful marriage ceremony.

Day
1
Arrival at Tribhuwan International airport (Kathmandu).

The Wedding Day

Before you arrive at monastery we make a separate wedding venue decorated by different flowers, colorful paper, twinkling lights and different painting. At first bride and bridegroom wear the typical Buddhist wedding dress with some accessories and reach the marriage venue (Monastery) in a decorated car. We will decorate your car by writing both of your names with love sign. After reaching the venue, the Buddhist priest called as Lama will handle all your ceremony with Buddhist spell. According to Buddhist culture 3 to 4 Lamas are necessary for a complete wedding ceremony. It will take 4 to 5 hours to finish your ceremony then you will enjoy with Buddhist wedding music and other Buddhist cultural things. After finishing all your ceremony we will drop to your hotel.

Mountain Flight and Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

After an early breakfaast the newly wedded couple will enjoy one hour mountain flight, you will see various highest mountains of Nepal including the Everest. Today after your lunch, you will start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu. Some of these landmarks are considered World Heritage Sites; including the, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple’ Swayambunath and Buddhists shrine of Bouddhanath which is one of the largest Stupas in the world. Along with it you will visit the medieval palaces of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur, these palaces are rich in stone and wood sculptures glorifying the rich artistic history of ancient Nepal.

Fly to Lumbini.

You will take an early 30 min. flight to reach Lumbini, the Birth place of Lord Buddha. Your wedding in Buddhist ceremony will be much more concretized by this tour to Lumbini.

You will visit different beautiful monastaries, Maya Devi temple, Ashoka Pillar and various other amazing spots in Lumbini.
