Tibet Travel Permit Information
Foreign travelers willing to visit Tibet require separate Tibet Travel Permit other than valid Chinese visa. The Tibet Travel permit is arranged only through authorized Travel agency and must be obtained before entering Tibet. Travelers should also arrange their trip only through authorized tour operator as the required permits, guides, transportation and arrangements are handled as part of organized tour.
Independent travel is not allowed in Tibet, only organized travel with authorized Tour operator are allowed.
Document required: At least six month valid, clear scan copy of your Passport before 20 days of your departure to Tibet. Rest of the things are taken care by Global Holidays Adventure.
Chinese visa:
If you have visa category L in your Chinese visa then you can entry China for Tibet travel. However Tibet Travel Permit is still required. If you are traveling to Tibet from Kathmandu then you have to apply for a group visa which will take 1 week in Kathmandu. Group visa for Tibet travel are issued only from Kathmandu.
If you are a following citizen and passport holder, you can now enter Tibet with just a travel permit. You do not need a visa and spend more time in Kathmandu for China visa processing.

1
Arrival at Lhasa (3660 meters).

You will be received by your Tibetan guide at Gonggar Airport. After immigration formalities take a 1.5-hour drive along 93 km road leading to Lhasa lying at an altitude of 3660 meters. It’s advisable to rest and take it easy for the remainder of the day due to Lhasa’s altitude.

Once you finish your delicious breakfast, you straightaway make arrangements for your sightseeing tour. Your experienced guide accompanies you to the famous monasteries of Tibet. On your awe-inspiring visit to Sera Monastery, you are introduced to the important aspects of Buddhism. After lunch, you once again continue exploring Tibetan ancient cultures and civilizations as you pay a visit to Norbulingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. Jokhang temple provides yet another exciting and educative tour. Wandering around Barkhor Markets is another major highlight of the day.

After breakfast, you will set off to view majestic Potala Palace towering above city of Lhasa. You get to witness unique, pristine and overwhelming array of intricate Tibetan murals, temples, stupas, and tombs of eight past Dalai Lamas from a perfect vantage point. Ancient Tibetan cultures come alive with your every exploration. Later in the noon after lunch, you will visit beautifully landscaped Drepung Monastery. You can observe nuns and monks chanting and performing religious discourses. After this religious journey, you eventually return to your hotel for delicious dinner and well-earned peaceful sleep.

After an early morning breakfast in Ronbuk you will hike up to Everest Base Camp and explore around. You will enjoy the marvellous view of snow capped mountains and capture the moment in your camera and your memory. The base camp itself is dry and barren, but the views of Everest more than compensates for it. It truly is an awe-inspiring place with the sheer north face of the highest mountain in the world towering above you. After spending some quality time there you stoll down to Ronbuk and Drive to Shigatse.

Can I visit Everest Base Camp from Lhasa?
Yes. Travelers can reach Everest Base Camp on the Tibetan side by an overland journey from Lhasa. The route passes through important destinations such as Gyantse and Shigatse before continuing toward the Everest region.
What is the best time for this tour ?
Generally, March to November is considered best period of visiting Tibet. The weather is clear for most of the days, however the weather can change instantly as the Himalayan weather is difficult to predict.
Do you need to acclimatize before visiting Everest Base Camp?
Yes. Acclimatization is particularly important because much of the Tibet Everest Base Camp route remains above 3,500 meters. A properly planned itinerary includes gradual elevation gain and sufficient rest to help travelers adjust to the altitude.
Is the Tibet Everest Base Camp Tour difficult?
Well, mostly it is an overland journey and there are lot of good hotels which provide comfortable stays. The high altitude region might make you little bit tired for the first few days, however proper acclimatization, hydration and well rested body makes your tour easy.
