Paro Arrival & drive to Thimphu.

Upon your arrival at Paro airport, you will be received and welcomed by one of the individual Global Holidays Adventure and take you to your hotel. It takes 1.5 hour in order to reach capital Thimphu. During afternoon, we will go to the Memorial Chorten, a monument built in memory of the late King by the Royal Queen Mother. After that, we will visit the Buddha View Point, which offers a panoramic view of Thimphu city. In the evening, we will visit the Tashichho Dzong, which serves as the parliament house of the country, and take a stroll by the King's palace.

Today during the morning, we will explore Changangkha Lhakhang and the Takin preserve center where the national animal of Bhutan is kept. Later, we will drive to Dochula pass, which stands at an altitude of 10,000ft, to admire the breathtaking views of the Eastern Himalayan range, which are particularly stunning on a clear sunny day. After lunch, we will continue our journey by driving to Thimphu.

Drive to Paro, Hike Taktsang Monastery (5hrs Hike.).

After an early breakfast, today we will embark on a scenic drive to the picturesque city of Paro. One of the highlights of the day is a visit to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger Monastery, a revered cultural and religious site in Bhutan. The hike to monastery is usually about 3 hour approximately. It is advised to dress modest in order visit Taktsang monastery.  After exploring the monastery, we will head to a traditional farmhouse to experience the authentic lifestyle of the local Bhutanese people. Additionally, we will also have the opportunity to visit museums and street markets in Paro, providing further insight into the rich culture of Bhutan.

Why Bhutan is expensive for visit?

This is true that Bhutan is more expensive than Nepal and India. The government of Bhutan has imposed an all-inclusive nightly tariff structure for all tourists so Bhutan tour can appear more expensive. A regular tour operator of Bhutan from 10 years we receive comments from returning clients that they get the real value of money genuinely. Considering the tour every visitors has access to a private guide, vehicle, driver, and package includes all meals, accommodation, sightseeing, entry fees, transfers, taxes, Government Royalties and visa fees which is indeed excellent value of money as well as Bhutan is such a pleasure to visit.

Can I travel independently in Bhutan?

No! It is not possible to get entry visa to go Bhutan unless you pre-arranged land tour itinerary with a licensed and approved tour operator and pay the appropriate nightly all inclusive government tariff. Bhutan government avoid the independent visitors to maintain its strict culture and ecological value. However you can enjoy a high degree of flexibility during the hike, visit local markets, villages and interact with locals as you wish. You can arrange your own private tour and you do not need to join with other group but it just must be pre-paid and pre-arranged.

 

 

What will weather be like in Bhutan?

Bhutan, like Nepal and other countries in the planet is experiencing some climate change. Summer (June to mid- September) are warm, humid and raining. Winter (December to Early march) cold and dry. Winter nights are cold but days are clear and sunny. The western valleys only average 2 snowfall per annum. August to early September is wettest period.

There are two way to reach Bhutan either from overland from India or by flight from Nepal, Indian and Thailand. Flight from Kathmandu is most amazing which offers the spectular views of Everest, Makalu, kanchanjunga and thousands of Himalayan peaks. 

How can I Obtain Bhutan Visa?

We Global Holidays Adventure will help you for visa procedures. We must submit the visa application to the Bhutan government at least 1 week before you go. Here you will get paper visa and once you arrive at Paro get actual stamped in your passport. For Visa application we need your clear scan copy of your passport.

When is the best time to visit Bhutan?

October to December is the ideal time to visit Bhutan as the weather is clear and fresh with sunny skies. January and February is clod after then march to May is the climate remains dry and pleasant and end of the spring rhododendron bloom spectacularly and flooding the hills with varieties of colors. May to june is little hot and high humidity, from June from September the monsoon rain covers the mountains.

Is there any altitude problems in Bhutan?

Most visitors will have No problems of altitude in Bhutan. Our cultural tour itineraries does not reach higher than 3500 meters from sea level. Of course if you are doing some trekking in Bhutan then you have to aware from altitude.
